I haven’t lost interest in spaceflight. I’ve been writing on another subject for the local 912 Project. If all goes according to plan, there should be a book out this fall titled Fear of Freedom and Other Notes to 912. There will probably a Kickstarter in July or so to raise the funds for publishing and to determine if people are still interested enough when cash is involved. My portion has become somewhat more time consuming than I expected. The book project started when I wrote a couple of pages on the fear many people have of freedom. It was sent out to the local project mailing list and resulted in requests for more articles. So my portion has become a series of articles of 1,000 to 1,500 words with a very similar style to the blog posts I have done here only with a different subject. Only after people realized they could argue points without it becoming personal did I start getting serious feedback that was useful.
I’m hoping some of the people I know from this blog and the industry will react favorably to a decidedly conservative publication. It is my opinion that the political landscape of this country has become more important to long term space freedom than any technical concepts that I might have. If I can help move the pendulum back in some small way, it will be effort well spent.
Apologies for any of your time I have wasted with off topic posting.

The masthead says Random Musings from Warped Minds. I don’t see how you could be off topic John. Plus it’s one of the most important topics existing.
So where can I catch the discussion on why people are afraid of freedom (which 99.9% certainly are?)
I tend to avoid politics of the blog that is Jons’ property as I originally just wanted to talk space and never asked him about political discussions. Also politics has a tendency to be come even more polarized than spaceflight with a much higher heat to light ratio than I normally care for. The discussion is on an email list to members of the Winter have 912 Project.
Argh. That is the Winter Haven 912 Project.
John,
No worries on a political post. I do a few of them myself. While I won’t necessarily endorse (or un-endorse) your efforts here, I’m fine with you using the blog to draw people’s attention to what you’re trying to do.

I’m with Ken, John. Don’t see how that’s really much off topic for a thinker on a blog, at least as an occasional post to let your readers know what you are/have_been doing, and present a simple invitation.
Ostensibly, your readers “want” to know.
And as Jon said, that is neither an endorsement nor the opposite. But always good to hear well thought-out points of view.
