Since finding out it was a bad idea to blog technical on space hardware ideas, I haven’t been writing at all. I listen to a variety of talk shows on the truck radio in dribs and drabs at work and found that listening to people talk trash that I couldn’t respond to was quite irritating. I finally did a short 99 cent of about 30 pages ebook on Kindle called “Arguing with Jerry Hughes and Friends”. It is mostly in response to Jerry’s talk show and is somewhat similar in technique to the discussions we had here on space technology. It is supposed to be free on library loan and I have 5 promotion days available for free downloads once I figure out how that works.
I argue that congress is underpaid, dropping out of school is not always bad and other poorly thought out heresies. Anyone interested that can snag it for free might get their money’s worth.

::Since finding out it was a bad idea to blog technical on space hardware ideas
Huh ? What did i miss ?
I was happy go lucky throwing fun ideas out there and enjoying the feedback when I learned that ITAR considers electronic publishing of rocket ideas to be exporting controlled technology. That the majority of the ideas were either technically or financially infeasible is a technicality that may or may not have some bearing on things. While I know the state department is not going to go after a hit and miss blogger, it could affect business dealings at some point in the future. I had assumed that blogging blue sky ideas for free on a public forum was fine and covered under the first amendment. What I didn’t realize was that the state department doesn’t consider electronic publishing to be covered, only ink on paper.
And dang right it annoys me that there are at least theoretical legal problems with doing a hobby I enjoyed.
…only ink on paper…
